Preliminary Task Evaluation
Doing the preliminary task was very benefitial to me in everyway. Firstly my raw as the diretor to coodinate the crew came in practise and l actually had to see that the shooting is going well.
I was organising and making sure that the actors we there on time and that they did and said what we had planned. What the actors had to do include the following:
As the shooting was going on, l had to make sure that the videographer was including the shots that were in the plannned and they also include the following:
I also played the raw of editing, covering Josh who was not around and for me editing was intresting and l learnt a lot of things. As l was editing l had many good shots but l only had to select a few and at one point l had twoo very goods shots showing the same thing at different persipectives and l wanted to use them both. Unfortunatley l could not use them because l didn't want to break the 30 degree rule. The shots angles where less than 30 degrees and if l was to use them l was going to break the rule. At the end l had to choose one shot to use, of which l did but it was a very had decision to make.
In my editing as well l added some extra effects to make the video look different from others and l knew about these effects from my previous research about the software. In the video clip l added slo motion effects, fast speed effects and l also added titles. I also managed to add some introduction templet on the begginging on the clip which made it look more presenteble.

Preliminary Task
As part of our coursework we were assigned to do the preliminary task and l continues with my raw of being the director. Sophie was on the camera as the videographer, and because Joshua was not there to edit what we had captured l had to be the editor aswell, so in a natshell l played two roles in this preliminary task which are firstly my original raw as the director and also the editor covering Joshua's position.

The Collection of Helpful Notes
As we were being taught through out, l made notes and some of the notes that are going to be helpful to me are below:
Equipment List
I came together with the videographer Sophie, so that we could organise the equipment that we would want to use on the day and book it out on time. The equipment that we agreed on is as follows:
Sony HVR-V1U pro HDV 1080p
Tripod
Glidecam
8mm Hi8 120min Video Camera Cassette Tape
Prop Notes & Pictures
In this opening sequence we are not really going to use many props, but some of the props we are going to be using are:
Headphones
Phone
Long Gloves
Location Notes & Pictures
Below are pictures of the different locations that we are going to use on the shooting day and they are all in Gedia Park. The film Vanish will have it's opening sequence unfolded in these three locations. In the first two minutes of the film we see the actress (victim) and the anonymous killer in these locations. These locations are not closely monitored by any CCTVs or police, especially at the time of the night the film will be shot. In this movie it just starts as a dream but as many says dreams can be real and in this case they become real as time goes by. These locations we chose are going to make us able to express everything we want to the audience, from the suspense, tension and other surprises. I as the director decided to use these three locations as the main center stages because through out the movie, the antagonist will be playing his games around this area most.
As the story unfolds and as frightening events keep taking place these three locations become dangerous places to be. People around that area do not have any other options because that's their way home, especially those who don't drive, to the audience this will raise suspension and tension as people try to figure out what’s really going on and all of them try to keep out of the antagonist’s way. People eventually get scared because no one knows when they could be attacked. The disappearance of many other people in these places will be a cause of concern to the security officers and the government.
Storyboard Notes from Class
In class we were taught about storyboards and some of the things that we were taught are as follows:
Storyboard (first draft)
Sophie the videographer was the one responsible for the storyboard and l as the director had to make sure that it is well done on time.
What l had to Consider on my Script
According to my own research and what l was taught there are only two (2) types of scripts and there are :
- Script with Dialogue
- Script with no Dialogue
Brainstorm of the Chosen Movie idea
The movie idea that was chosen and agreed on by the crew was my movie called "Vanish". After the agreements I as the director started doing a brainstorm for the movie and it's shown below.
This brainstorm includes everything from the moment we are going to shoot the movie up until the editing time.

Evidence of Researching Story Ideas
As a group we agreed that everyone was going to bring an idea into the group and we will look at which one we could do best.
The different story ideas are as follows

Audience Research Evaluation
When it comes to audience research l did the first research with my group which is the video. The second one which is the questionnaire and the third one the web questionnaire l did them individually.Managing to do three different types of questionnaires for my audience research gave me a wider view on what the audience want and expect, this is mainly so because l reached different types of audience using their relevant center of attraction, for example most young adults and teenagers used the web questionnaires more than others because that is where they spent most of their time.
One of the main things that l have found is that the audience find the opening sequence important and because of this l noticed that as the director l have to also consider what the audience find important and this means when l'm conducting the crew for the opening sequence for our coursework there have to be more effort and great focus put into it.

Prove for Issuing Questionnaires to the Audience
Apart from doing the group audience research video, l also managed to give out questionnaires to other audience, different ones to the ones we asked on the video. I tried to give my questionnaires to people of all ages, genders and ethnic groups. I gave out ten (10) questionnaires.
This was my own individual work and the results l found are as follows:
